About the service
tombz is an online cemetery, cathartic and symbolic, where anyone can bury what belongs to their past (a finished relationship, a job they left, an abandoned project, a habit, an old username) under an epitaph, on an interactive map. Publishing a grave costs €2. The service is published and hosted in France.
Content & moderation
Epitaphs are written by users and reviewed one by one by a human before publication. Anything meant to harass, defame or harm an identifiable person is rejected. Any person concerned may request the removal of a grave by contacting the publisher; removal is performed promptly (GDPR right to object and to erasure).
Intellectual property
The structure of the site, its design, its source code and the name « tombz » are the property of the publisher. Published epitaphs and texts remain the responsibility of their authors, who allow tombz to display them on the site. Any reproduction or reuse of the site without prior agreement is prohibited.
Personal data
The email provided during a burial is used only to send the receipt and to exercise the removal right. It is never displayed publicly or shared with third parties. Under the GDPR, you have a right of access, rectification and erasure, which you can exercise through the contact form.
Cookies
The site sets a session cookie strictly necessary for its operation and for form security. An audience measurement tool (Google Analytics) may set statistics cookies; you can refuse them from your browser settings without affecting your use of the site.
Liability
tombz is provided « as is », for a playful and cathartic purpose. The publisher strives to keep the information accurate and the site available, but cannot be held liable for content published by users or for any temporary unavailability.
Applicable law
This site and its legal notice are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, and failing an amicable resolution, the French courts shall have sole jurisdiction.
