About tombz
A little online cemetery to bury what is over, and move on with a smile.
Everyone carries a few ghosts around. A love story that faded out, a job you finally quit, a project left at the bottom of a drawer, an old username that no longer fits. You keep them without quite knowing what to do with them, and every so often they come back up.
tombz starts from a very simple idea: what if we gave them a proper grave? You write a few words, pick a spot in the cemetery, and there it is, buried for good, on a map anyone can come and visit.
How it works
-
1
Choose what you bury
An ex, a company, a dead app, a habit, a username. Twelve categories, plus a thirteenth one for everything else.
-
2
Write the epitaph
A few words that sum it up. Funny, gentle or a touch vengeful, your call. You can add dates, sign it, and even tell the whole story: that longer text shows up below the grave, on its page.
-
3
Place the headstone
Drop your grave wherever you like on the map. We suggest a nice clear spot to start, and you move it however you want.
-
4
Rest in peace
It’s free right now, we review it, and your grave joins the cemetery. You leave with a link to share with whoever you want.
Why bury something
Because putting a word on a thing is already the start of letting it go. Writing « here lies my toxic job » helps more than you would think.
It is light, a little silly, and yet it works. You laugh, you breathe out, and you actually turn the page.
Candles and tributes
Any visitor can light a candle on a grave for free, or leave a tribute in a few words, signed with any nickname they like. The most-watched graves climb the ranking, and if you left your email when burying, you are notified each time a new tribute lands on yours. A gentle way of saying « I have been there too ».
Moderation and respect
Every grave is read by a human before it shows up. We welcome irony, anger and dark humour, but we reject anything truly meant to hurt or harass an identifiable person. The cemetery is a place to laugh at yourself, not to settle scores.
Frequently asked questions
Is it anonymous?
You sign with any nickname you want, or with nothing at all. Your email is only there so we can reach you, it never shows on the grave.
Why €2?
The price of a coffee to bury a ghost stays reasonable. It pays for hosting, keeps the bots away, and makes the gesture feel a bit more real than a free click.
Can I bury a real person?
You can bury a relationship or a memory, not go after someone. Anything that looks like harassment is set aside during review.
Can visitors react?
Yes. Anyone can light a candle or leave an anonymous tribute in a few words on a grave, no account needed. Tributes go through several anti-spam filters and stay moderatable. If you left your email, we let you know as soon as someone leaves a word on yours.
What if I regret it?
Write to us and we will take the grave down. Some goodbyes deserve a second chance.
Time to turn the page
